A M Micro has brought together SMART SERIAL 6 and VICOM’s TCP/IP Soft Router to provide an extremely cost effective dial-up Router.
Allowing up to six simultaneous in-coming calls, THE KEY will route users onto any TCP/IP based FileMaker Pro Client/Server Database or accessing a TeleFinder BBS, Web Server or picture library. Make a connection using Modems or ISDN either dialling directly into THE KEY or by using the Internet.
“The idea behind THE KEY was to provide a cost effective solution to a traditionally expensive problem of remote multi-user TCP/IP access:, says Steve Hawkins of A M Micro, “the ability to dial-in using ISDN or Modems to TCP/IP services such as Intranet Web Servers, BBBs, picture libraries, Databases, and Host services is becoming more of an issue as TCP/IP is being adopted as a Network standard and ever increasing numbers of people are teleworking from home, or remotely from the office”.
The Bronze KEY consists of the Smart Serial 6 PCI card & VICOM SoftRouter software. The Silver KEY consists of the Smart Serial 6 PCI card, VICOM Softrouter and six LASAT SAFIRE 28.8 modems.
